KPMG Graduate Training with Practical Business Exposure and Skills Development

Programme guide — checked 1 November 2026. KPMG’s Southern Africa graduate page explains its recruitment and training-contract expectations. This article focuses on the South African route. A specific open graduate training contract has not been independently confirmed here.
What the programme offers
KPMG describes practical engagement in business and exposure to professional practices as ways for graduates to develop their existing knowledge. Its selection approach considers more than academic marks: communication, teamwork, analytical thinking, flexibility, curiosity and willingness to learn are highlighted.
South African eligibility
Under its South Africa training-contract criteria, the official page lists a Certificate in the Theory of Accountancy, or an equivalent qualification from a SAICA-accredited university. It also identifies Microsoft Word competence, advanced Excel knowledge, communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
These published accounting-training criteria should not be treated as the requirements for every KPMG role. Other countries and other professional streams can have different entry rules.
Check the correct application route
Use the official KPMG graduate opportunities page and its linked recruitment portal. No salary amount, training-contract duration or universal graduate deadline is verified here.
The overview separately advertises vacation work closing on 4 November 2026. That is a different opportunity: it is not evidence that a graduate training contract has the same deadline or eligibility. Consult its specific advert if vacation work is your goal.
Before you submit an application
The following preparation suggestions are independent Reign Gigs advice.
Check the qualification requirement against your actual study record. If you are still studying, distinguish completed qualifications from expected results. Ask the recruitment team about any ambiguity rather than assuming an unrelated degree is equivalent.
Prepare examples of teamwork and problem-solving that show your own contribution. A clear account of how you handled an academic project can be stronger than a list of personality labels without evidence.
Review spreadsheet tasks you have genuinely performed and describe your level accurately. Do not claim advanced proficiency solely because you have used a spreadsheet once. Where you are still learning, explain that honestly.
Keep the job reference, location and intended start year with your application record. Save any confirmation you receive. Creating a general candidate profile is not necessarily the same as submitting an application for a specific vacancy.
