Sanlam Learnerships with Financial Services Skills Development

Programme guide — checked 1 November 2026. Sanlam publishes a standing guide to its learnerships and directs candidates to look for individual vacancies. No currently open intake is confirmed in this article. This is not an announcement that applications are open.
What the learnerships are intended to offer
Sanlam describes these programmes as a way to develop skills needed in South Africa’s financial-services sector. The official overview identifies unemployed-youth opportunities and opportunities for people living with disabilities.
The overview does not establish one stipend amount, duration or start date for every learnership. Those details must come from a specific recruitment advertisement; benefits from another Sanlam programme should not be transferred to this one.
Published eligibility requirements
The general application section lists South African citizenship, ages 18–35 and a valid Matric certificate including English and another South African language. Applicants must not already have completed the specified Further Education and Training Certificate in Long-term Insurance, SAQA ID 49649.
For the unemployed-youth stream, candidates must be unemployed. Rural-stream applicants must live in an area classified as rural by their municipality. Sanlam also restricts simultaneous participation in INSETA-funded programmes, except for qualifying INSETA-initiated employability arrangements. Previous early withdrawal from such a programme requires special employer representation and INSETA’s approval.
The disability-stream criteria include citizenship, the stated Matric subjects, no previous completion of the specified qualification, unemployment and not currently studying.
How to find the actual application
Read Sanlam’s official learnership guide, then search its official careers portal. The programme page says to check current vacancies annually; that is not a fixed application calendar or proof of a live intake.
Sanlam’s careers portal warns that it does not charge job applicants fees to secure employment. Use the employer’s recruitment system, not a payment request or unofficial message claiming to reserve a place.
Prepare without assuming selection
This is independent editorial advice, not extra Sanlam eligibility criteria.
Check your Matric certificate before completing a form. Use the qualification and subject names shown on the document. If you previously enrolled in an insurance-sector programme, keep a record of its qualification, funding and completion status so you can answer questions accurately.
When a vacancy appears, compare its requirements with the broad guide rather than relying on the guide alone. Note the location, attendance arrangements, deadline and any documents requested. A general candidate profile is not necessarily an application for that vacancy.
Do not resign, relocate or pay anyone because a training opportunity is advertised. Wait for a genuine selection outcome and written terms. If an allowance is offered, check its amount and payment arrangements before budgeting around it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I apply today?
Only an individual live vacancy can establish that. This guide does not verify an open application round.
Is a monthly stipend confirmed?
No amount is confirmed by the standing programme page used here.
Does this cover the graduate technology academy?
No. A graduate academy and a learnership have different entry routes. Use the advert for the programme you intend to join.
