SANEDI Offers 80 Energy Performance Internships With Monthly Stipends
SANEDI is recruiting 80 unemployed graduates for an 18-month Energy Performance Certificate skills programme, expected to start in mid-February 2027. Applications close on 2 November 2026.
SANEDI eligibility, support and locations
Applicants must be South African citizens aged 18–35 with a completed NQF Level 7 or higher qualification in engineering, energy studies/management, the built environment, natural sciences or economic sciences. An academic record is required.
The programme combines formal training, workplace learning and mentorship. Monthly stipends are confirmed, but no amount is published. Locations are Eastern Cape, North West, KwaZulu-Natal, Northern Cape and Free State. Candidates must accept placement and travel requirements; SANEDI may transfer participants.
Apply through the official SANEDI application page with a CV and certified copies of your qualification and ID. The official specification contains the full conditions.
Prepare a useful graduate application
The following preparation suggestions are Reign Gigs guidance, not additional selection rules.
Make your education section easy to verify. Use the exact qualification title, institution, completion date and level shown in your records. If your certificate and academic transcript use different names or abbreviations, avoid silently rewriting either document. Give a clear explanation in the available application field rather than expecting the reviewer to resolve an apparent mismatch.
Choose one university assignment that demonstrates careful measurement or analysis. A suitable example could involve comparing observations, cleaning a dataset, evaluating a building design or explaining an economic trade-off. Describe the question, the information you used, the method and the result. State your own contribution if the work was completed by a group. You do not need to pretend that an academic exercise was a paid professional commission.
Before uploading documents, open each file on a phone as well as a computer if possible. Check that stamps, page edges, dates and qualification details are readable. Give files descriptive names and retain an unchanged copy of the submitted version. Follow the form’s current file-type and size instructions rather than sending a large collection of unnecessary attachments.
Think through transport and living costs before choosing a placement preference. Prepare a realistic monthly budget covering rent, travel, meals and communication. Ask the recruiter which expenses, if any, are separately supported before accepting an offer. Do not make a non-refundable relocation commitment on the strength of an application alone.
For an interview, practise explaining a technical result to someone outside your degree field. Use plain language, identify assumptions and acknowledge missing information. A short, accurate explanation is stronger than a list of technical terms that you cannot defend. When discussing a calculation, keep the units visible and explain how you checked the input values. This helps another person follow your reasoning and spot mistakes.
Frequently asked questions
Should I include every university project?
No. Select the most relevant examples and explain them clearly. Keep the complete record available if the recruiter asks for further detail.
What should I do after submitting?
Save the confirmation and record the date. Keep your contact details current and check email folders regularly. Continue other applications while awaiting a decision.
Compare structured training options
Our PPECB programme guide covers a separate training route in perishable products. Compare the qualification requirements and placement commitments rather than assuming that all graduate schemes accept the same fields of study.
