What the work involves
The advertised job covers more than initial coding. It includes documentation, testing, production maintenance, quality assurance and controlled release of software. Two posts share the same reference, so applicants should use the published vacancy identifier rather than create separate reference variations.
- Prepare technical specifications and develop or customise software using the software-development lifecycle approach.
- Review code, maintain production software and back up files for recovery.
- Prepare test plans, test cases and communication plans; participate in user-acceptance testing and prepare deployment guidance.
- Report development progress and quality measures, check code against standards, and follow change-management processes before production deployment.
- Create and maintain developer documentation, share knowledge about existing and new functionality, and store development code in the appropriate library.
Documents to prepare
Submit the new Z83 together with a recent, comprehensive CV. The CV must include contactable referees with telephone numbers and email addresses. The Office of the Chief Justice asks applicants to send documents in PDF format and put them in one folder.
Complete the application form fully, sign it and initial both pages. State the correct position title, advertised office and exact reference. The old Z83 and incomplete, unsigned or uninitialled forms are not accepted.
Certified qualifications and related documents are required from shortlisted candidates on or before the interview date, after Human Resources contacts them. Applicants with foreign qualifications should follow the notice’s evaluation requirement. The initial application requirement is the new Z83 and comprehensive CV.
