ICASA Graduate Programme Offers R192,318 a Year and Two Years of Training
The ICASA graduate programme offers engineering graduates a paid route into communications regulation through practical work and structured learning.
ICASA graduate programme: opportunity overview
ICASA is recruiting for a two-year Regions and Consumer Affairs graduate appointment. The package is R192,318 per year, expressed as total cost to company. Practical experience is combined with theoretical learning, coaching and career guidance.
Eligibility and placement
Applicants must be South African citizens with a completed bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic or information engineering. A driving licence is advantageous. The first month is in Gauteng, followed by 23 months in Limpopo; ICASA does not cover accommodation.
Documents and deadline
The official closing date is 4 November 2026. Submit a CV, motivation letter, academic record and evidence of significant extracurricular activities. Applications are online; the careers email is for enquiries, not applications.
Practical application preparation
The following suggestions are independent editorial guidance, not additional employer requirements.
Connect engineering study with public-facing work
Choose a project in which you investigated a technical issue and explained the result to someone outside your specialism. Describe your own contribution, the evidence you considered and any limitations. This can make a graduate application more informative than a list of module names without context.
Plan for two locations
Before accepting, investigate the practical cost of the initial month and the longer placement separately. Ask about reporting arrangements and any expenses not clearly addressed in the offer. An annual cost-to-company package is not the same as monthly take-home pay, so avoid planning accommodation around an assumed net amount.
Use the motivation letter purposefully
Explain why communications regulation interests you and which genuine academic or extracurricular experience supports that interest. Provide a concrete example of teamwork, administration or meeting a deadline. Do not manufacture leadership titles or attach other participants’ private information to demonstrate an activity.
How to apply
Read the current official vacancy, sign in or register on the ICASA careers portal and follow its application link and complete the requested fields accurately. Review your documents and retain the submission confirmation.
