KAUST Opens Fully Funded Graduate Study Applications for Fall 2027 in Saudi Arabia

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology is accepting Fall 2027 applications for Master’s, combined MS/PhD, and PhD study. The current round opened on 28 September 2026 and closes on 3 January 2027, according to the university’s official admissions timetable.

Funding and benefits

KAUST’s graduate funding is formally called the KAUST Fellowship. The current admissions FAQ says admitted students automatically receive it, except those supported through particular partnerships or external sponsorship arrangements. There is no separate fellowship application.

The support includes full tuition, accommodation, health insurance, relocation assistance, and additional benefits detailed in the admission offer. Applicants entering through a partner or sponsor should confirm their own package, since the standard benefits may differ. The university’s broader funding information also lists a living allowance, with the applicable terms determined by the student’s programme and qualifications.

Eligibility and application documents

The entry-requirements page lists a relevant recognised Bachelor’s degree for Master’s admission and a relevant Master’s for PhD admission. Applicants must be at least 18 on entry and have a minimum GPA of 3.0/4 or equivalent. Meeting that threshold does not guarantee admission.

Required materials include academic records, a CV, a statement of purpose, three referees’ contact details, identity documentation, and English-language evidence where applicable. Documents must be in English; records in another language need the original plus a certified translation. Check the current English-test requirements directly, because older KAUST pages show different thresholds.

How to apply

  1. Find an available Fall 2027 programme matching your academic background and research interests.
  2. Read its entry requirements and prepare the supporting documents.
  3. Create an account in the official application portal.
  4. Complete the application, arrange references, and submit before the round closes.

The study page lists available disciplines, including applied mathematics, chemistry, computer science, engineering, marine science and statistics. Availability can differ by programme; consult the programme’s live application link rather than assuming every subject opens simultaneously.

Deadline and timetable

The published Fall 2027 deadline is 3 January 2027, with decisions scheduled for 14 February and the semester starting on 29 August. KAUST marks these dates as tentative and subject to application volume. Its live portal confirms that Fall 2027 applications are open; Spring 2027 applications are closed.

Start at the official KAUST application portal. Review the entry requirements, funding FAQ, and current timetable before submitting. Verified on 14 October 2026.
