SIOC-CDT Bursary 2027: Study Funding for Five Beneficiary Communities

The SIOC-CDT Bursary 2027 is accepting applications for post-matric study from eligible students in five beneficiary communities. The official application administered by Dux closes at 12:00 midday on 30 November 2026. It is a community-specific opportunity, so check your residence before spending time on the form.

The Trust’s official announcement links directly to the Dux application and a downloadable manual form. Funding supports students who need help with the cost of further education, but an application is not an award. Your academic record, household circumstances, institution and community connection all matter.

SIOC-CDT Bursary 2027: who is eligible?

  • South African citizens who are no older than 35 on 30 November 2026.
  • Residents of Ga-Segonyana, Joe Morolong, Gamagara, Tsantsabane or Thabazimbi.
  • Applicants with a latest academic average of at least 65%.
  • Households with gross annual income below R600,000, as stated in the online eligibility gate.
  • Full-time students, or applicants for full-time study, at recognised public higher education institutions.
  • Applicants with proof of application, provisional acceptance, acceptance or registration.

The first four communities are in the Northern Cape; Thabazimbi is in Limpopo. The online form is stricter than some summaries: it says household income must be less than R600,000 and requires residence in a listed area. If your circumstances sit on a boundary or differ from these conditions, ask the administrator before assuming eligibility.

Study fields and funding support

The official programme material prioritises fields across agriculture, health, education, law, tourism, business, engineering and information technology. Match your exact qualification to the programme information instead of assuming that every course within a large faculty qualifies.

The advertised support includes registration and tuition, accommodation, prescribed study material, a once-off laptop, a monthly stipend and assistive devices where applicable. The amount and payment conditions are not a universal cash award. Confirm the approved package in your bursary agreement before making spending commitments.

Think about the practical fit of the qualification as well as the funding. Check the institution’s admission rules, duration and campus. A bursary application will not secure a university place for you, and provisional admission may still require final results. Keep your admissions and funding tasks on separate checklists so neither is overlooked.

SIOC-CDT Bursary 2027 documents

Dux requires recent certified identity and academic documents, relevant final Matric results, proof of your public-institution application or registration, recent residence evidence, household income evidence and parents’ or guardians’ bank statements. Disability documentation is required where applicable. Follow the current upload instructions for your situation.

The form contains detailed checks, including documentation for both parents or guardians when both are listed. Do not leave one person’s supporting records out merely because another person is the main earner. Read the alternatives for unemployment or other household circumstances and supply the applicable evidence honestly.

Create a private folder for the application and inspect each file before uploading. Your name and the institution’s name should be visible on admission evidence. If an academic record has several pages, include the complete record. Avoid password-protected files that the administrator cannot open, and do not alter dates or certification stamps.

How to apply for the SIOC-CDT Bursary 2027

  1. Use the Trust’s official announcement to reach the Dux form.
  2. Read the eligibility screen and supporting-document instructions.
  3. Complete all eight stages carefully, checking household and study information.
  4. Upload the required documents in the formats accepted by the current field.
  5. Read the declarations and privacy terms, review the application, then submit before the deadline.
  6. Keep the acknowledgement and monitor the contact details used in your application.

The online page says you do not need to log in before starting. A Save and Resume Later option is available. If you use it, keep the private resume link secure and note its expiry information. Saving progress is not the same as submitting the completed application.

The Trust also provides a manual application route. Download the current form from its official announcement and follow that form’s delivery instructions. Do not send documents to a third-party bursary directory or assume that an email asking for assistance counts as an application.

Closing date and help

Submit by 30 November 2026 at 12:00 midday, not at the end of that evening. Aim to finish earlier so there is time to correct missing or unreadable documents. Dux lists assistance through the contact details on its application page, including WhatsApp or telephone on 060 656 1305.

Only shortlisted candidates are contacted for interview, according to the form. Continue pursuing other suitable funding while waiting, and disclose other awards accurately if asked. Before accepting competing offers, compare their conditions so that you do not accidentally promise the same study costs to incompatible funding arrangements.
