Safripol Safety Learnership Gives Applicants Plant Experience With No Prior Work Experience Required
Safripol is recruiting an EH&S Experiential Learner in Sasolburg, Free State, for a temporary learnership that combines supervised plant exposure with practical safety work. The employer explicitly accepts applicants with no previous work experience, but applicants must already hold a National Diploma in Safety Management and meet its other technical requirements.
Applications close on 11 November 2026. The vacancy reference is SAF261029-1, and the official advert was available when checked on 6 November 2026.
What the learnership involves
The learner will assist Safripol’s Environmental, Health and Safety team across its operating plants and support areas. The learning plan includes rotations through the polypropylene and high-density polyethylene plants, with a logbook or portfolio of evidence reviewed and signed off by a mentor.
Practical tasks include helping with safety awareness sessions, recording inspection findings, supporting hazard assessments, capturing monitoring results and following up on corrective actions. The learner also assists with incident-investigation records and site safety statistics.
This is a supervised role. The advert states that the learner works within delegated authority and does not sign off permits, risk assessments or investigation reports. That distinction matters for applicants comparing the placement with a qualified safety-officer vacancy.
Who can apply?
- Applicants with a National Diploma in Safety Management and Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification, including compulsory mathematics and science.
- Applicants with HIRA risk-assessment training and the incident-investigation capability listed in the advert.
- Applicants who can use Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and hold a valid driving licence.
- Applicants medically fit for a chemical-process environment, subject to a pre-placement medical.
SACPCMP registration is an advantage. Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety law, ISO systems and other relevant compliance legislation is also advantageous. Previous employment is not required, so candidates should not confuse the experience allowance with an exemption from the diploma or other entry requirements.
Pay and duration
The advert does not publish a stipend, salary or contract duration. Applicants should ask Safripol about these terms if invited to the next stage and use the written offer when making financial or travel plans. No permanent appointment is promised in the notice.
