South Deep Education Trust Bursary with Full Tuition, Accommodation and a Monthly Stipend
South Deep Education Trust’s 2027 bursary supports learners and students from its mine-host communities and nearby areas, including Westonaria, Bekkersdal, Simunye, Poortjie, Borwa, Hillshaven and Zuurbekom. Household income must not exceed R350,000 annually. Support covers tuition, accommodation, textbooks, a laptop allowance, mentoring and tutoring. See the administrator’s official call.
Eligibility, benefits and documents
Dependants of Gold Fields/group employees or South Deep Education and Community Trusts trustees are excluded. Grade 12 applicants need 75% excluding Life Orientation, provisional first-year diploma/degree admission at a South African public university/TVET college, and no other study funding. Current tertiary students applying for the first time need 65%; returning SDET applicants need 50%. Repeat modules are not funded.
The stipend runs for ten months; specialist equipment is considered individually. Awards are limited and first-come, first-served. Deadline: 6 November 2026.
Prepare certified applicant/parent or guardian IDs, address proof and a bank-confirmation letter, all within three months; admission evidence; stamped/certified results identifying you and your institution; parent/guardian income, pension/grant evidence or an affidavit; and tuition/accommodation estimates.
