The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently advertising internship opportunities under its Inclusive Growth Programme, designed to support Africa’s economic transformation agenda.

Tasks
Selected candidates will support UNDP teams through a variety of research and coordination tasks, including:
- Conducting research on economic development, trade, and sustainability
- Drafting reports, policy briefs, and technical documents
- Supporting stakeholder engagement (governments, private sector, NGOs)
- Assisting with programme coordination and knowledge management
- Preparing presentations, dashboards, and communication materials
- Contributing to regional policy initiatives such as AfCFTA and Blue Economy programmes
Interns will also participate in team meetings and collaborate with international experts in development policy.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Enrolled in a postgraduate degree (Master’s or equivalent), OR
- Recently graduated (within one year) with a Bachelor’s degree in:
- Economics
- Public Policy
- Development Studies
- Or related fields
Experience
- No mandatory work experience required
- Background or exposure in development research is an advantage
- Familiarity with SDGs, governance, or economic policy is beneficial
Skills
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to synthesize complex information
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Initiative and adaptability in a multicultural environment
- Knowledge of digital tools, communications, or design is a plus
Language
- Fluency in English required
- French is an added advantage
