The General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union has officially opened applications for the Consilium Traineeships 2027, offering graduates an opportunity to gain practical experience at the heart of European Union policymaking.
The paid traineeship programme places successful candidates in various departments across the Council’s administration, allowing them to contribute to policy development, legal affairs, communications, translation, administration, and information technology while working in Brussels, Belgium.
Each year, approximately 110 paid traineeship positions are offered to graduates from diverse academic backgrounds.
About the Consilium Traineeship Programme
The Consilium Traineeship Programme provides young graduates with first-hand experience of how the European Union functions and how major European decisions are prepared and implemented.

Eligibility Requirements

Positive Action Programme
The Council also operates a Positive Action Programme that reserves up to six traineeship places each year for EU nationals with a recognised disability.
