Background & Job Description

UNICEF is seeking consultants for fully remote positions to produce analysis on child multidimensional poverty for the 2026 Arab Multidimensional Poverty Report. The consultancy focuses on children with disabilities and newly released household survey datasets from Arab countries, contributing to evidence-based policymaking and global efforts to reduce child poverty.

The contract runs from 15 October 2025 to 30 April 2026 (19 working days) and involves preparing data analysis, reports, and peer-reviewed publications on child poverty.

Tasks for Fully Remote UN Positions 60k-110k Annual Salary

Consultants will:

  • Conduct Child Multidimensional Poverty analysis for the upcoming Arab Poverty Report.
  • Analyze newly released household surveys for Lebanon and Libya using the MODA framework.
  • Contribute to preparation of the 3rd Arab Poverty Report, including updated analyses for Comoros, Sudan, and Somalia.
  • Prepare a peer-reviewed journal article on child poverty and disability.
  • Support knowledge retention by consolidating datasets and documenting MODA methodology.

Qualifications

Education and Certification

  • Advanced university degree in Economics, Demography, Statistics, Epidemiology, or related technical fields.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in child multidimensional poverty analysis using MICS, DHS, or similar data sources.
  • Experience with SPSS or Stata.
  • Knowledge of analytical work in the MENA region is highly desirable.
  • Strong writing and reporting skills.
  • Previous UNICEF experience on child poverty and work related to gender and poverty is a plus.

Language

  • Fluency in English is required.

  • Annual Salary: $60,000 – $110,000.
