About the Role

This role supports Cambodia’s agricultural sector in meeting its climate mitigation commitments under key national and international frameworks, including:

  • Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0)
  • Long-Term Strategy for Carbon Neutrality (LTS4CN)
  • Cambodia Climate Change Strategic Plan (CCCSP)

Working under the strategic guidance of the GIZ Cluster Climate and Agrifood Systems, the Integrated Specialist will contribute to climate financing acquisition, carbon market development, and institutional strengthening within MAFF’s Climate Change Office.


What You’ll Be Working On

This position combines policy support, project development, and capacity building. Key areas of work include:

  • Supporting the acquisition of climate finance to implement agricultural mitigation commitments
  • Strengthening and expanding agricultural mitigation projects in at least two provinces
  • Developing projects aligned with voluntary carbon markets and Article 6 of the Paris Agreement
  • Supporting the creation of a carbon markets guideline for Cambodia’s agricultural sector
  • Contributing to the development of a project pipeline for climate finance and carbon market initiatives
  • Strengthening MAFF’s Climate Change Office in policy formulation, monitoring, reporting, and UNFCCC processes
  • Building long-term institutional capacity on climate governance and reporting
