The World Bank Group Young Professionals Program (YPP) 2025 is a premier global initiative that engages highly skilled professionals to tackle critical development challenges. Participants join the World Bank, IFC, or MIGA in operational or specialized function tracks. The program combines on-the-job learning with the YP Academy, which provides technical training, leadership development, mentorship, and exposure to international development strategies. This program helps professionals grow as future leaders in addressing global poverty, climate change, infrastructure, finance, digital transformation, and more.
Tasks & Opportunities
- Contribute to projects across sectors such as health, education, climate, finance, agriculture, infrastructure, energy, digital transformation, legal, and human resources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the World Bank Group globally.
- Participate in leadership and technical training through the YP Academy.
- Engage in mentorship and one-on-one coaching sessions with senior leaders.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and policy development to drive sustainable development.

Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Minimum of a master’s degree in a relevant field by September 1, 2026.
- PhD or substantial doctoral research may count as work experience.
Experience
- 2–6 years of professional working experience in relevant fields.
- Demonstrated technical expertise, leadership potential, and a commitment to global development.
Other Requirements
- Nationality of a World Bank Group member country.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English; other languages are a plus.
- Not currently a World Bank Group staff member or otherwise restricted from joining.
Additional Information
- Contract Start Date: September 1, 2026 (full-time).
- Term: 2-year initial contract, renewable up to 5 years based on performance.
- Location: Washington, DC or other World Bank Group offices worldwide (relocation required).
