Background & Job Description

The Mastercard Foundation Internship 2026 provides recent graduates with hands-on experience in different departments of the Foundation. It is part of the Young Africa Works strategy, focusing on preparing youth for future employment and entrepreneurship. The program is non-renewable and runs for 11 months across the Foundation’s offices in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, and Uganda.


Tasks

Interns will:

  • Support program design, monitoring, and implementation.
  • Conduct research and data analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Assist with reporting, knowledge management, and documentation.
  • Participate in stakeholder engagement and learning sessions.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for events.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Contribute innovative ideas to strengthen youth-focused initiatives.

Qualifications (Education and Certification, Experience) Mastercard Foundation 2026 Internship Program – Paid Opportunities for Young Professionals in Africa

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a recent graduate with 0–4 years’ experience.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Law, Communications, Finance, or related disciplines.
  • Be eligible to work in one of the seven participating African countries.
  • Demonstrate interest in youth development, social impact, and inclusive growth.
  • Have strong research, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Be proficient in MS Office or Google Workspace.

  • Application Deadline: 11 September 2025
  • Start Date: 15 January 2026
  • Duration: 11 months (non-extendable)
  • Locations: Mastercard Foundation offices in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal.
