Amani Pamoja (Peace Together): Youth Peacebuilding and Advocacy Partnership Across Europe and East Africa

Amani Pamoja (Peace Together) is a youth peacebuilding capacity-building project supporting young leaders and youth-led organisations across six countries in Europe and East Africa. Background & Project Description

Amani Pamoja (Peace Together) is a capacity-building partnership designed to strengthen the ability of youth-led and youth-focused organisations to advocate for peace and participate meaningfully in peace and security processes.

The project brings together youth peacebuilding organisations from Kenya, Germany, Italy, Spain, Tanzania and Uganda. It runs from December 2025 to November 2027 and is sponsored by the European Union.

Tasks

The project focuses on several major activities throughout its implementation period.

Cross-Continental Youth Exchanges

The programme includes two major exchanges.

The first, Youth Exchange 1 – Cross-continental learning partnership, brought together more than five youth-led and five youth-focused organisations in Kampala, Uganda, from July 13–19, 2026.

The second, Youth Exchange 2 – Advocacy and policy dialogue training, is scheduled for Vilanova i la Geltrú near Barcelona, Spain, from November 27 to December 3, 2026. It is designed to strengthen young people’s confidence and competence in advocating for peace.

Youth Participation Activities in East Africa

Between December 2026 and August 2027, the project will train 75 young leaders across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

The plan is to train approximately 25 young leaders per country, followed by opportunities to participate in policy dialogue spaces at local and national levels.

A further 75 young leaders will receive training across Germany, Italy and Spain.
