Key Responsibilities
The Youth Program Assistant will:
Academic & Youth Support
- Facilitate after-school workshops and literacy enrichment
- Provide tutoring and homework support
- Support college and career preparation activities
- Assist with social-emotional learning programs
Student Engagement & Supervision
- Supervise students during activities and field trips
- Conduct student check-ins
- Support case management processes
Program & Administrative Support
- Assist with recruitment of after-school and summer camp participants
- Maintain documentation and files
- Support home visits with program staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Experience
- Experience in education or human services preferred
- Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations strongly preferred
- Experience tutoring youth preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication skills
- Fluent English (additional languages spoken by client population preferred)
- Strong organizational abilities
- Computer literacy (PC systems)
- Interest in social justice and refugee issues
- Valid driver’s license and access to insured vehicle
- Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends
Working Environment
- Combination of office, school-based, and limited remote work
- Field time within service delivery areas
- Occasional domestic travel
- Evening and weekend work may be required
