Background & Job Description

Clicks Group, one of South Africa’s leading retail pharmacy, health, and beauty chains, is offering an exciting Youth Employment Programme for unemployed young people across Gauteng, Durban, and the Western Cape. This initiative is part of Clicks’ ongoing commitment to youth empowerment, skills development, and transformation in the retail industry.

South Africa continues to face high levels of youth unemployment. In response to this challenge, Clicks has designed a program that combines classroom-based learning with hands-on retail experience, giving young people the tools they need to build a future in the health and beauty sector.

This is not just a temporary job—it’s a career development opportunity. Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will receive a nationally recognized NQF Level 2 Checkout Operator occupational qualification, significantly boosting their employability in the retail industry.

Whether you’re based in a city like Johannesburg, Cape Town, or Durban—or in nearby communities within Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, or the Western Cape—this programme offers a gateway into long-term employment with one of South Africa’s top retail employers.

Tasks

Selected participants will take part in a structured youth employment and skills training programme that includes:

  • In-store practical experience: Learn how to assist customers, manage stock, operate tills, and perform daily retail duties under the supervision of trained professionals.
  • Classroom-based instruction: Covering essential topics in retail service, sales support, store operations, and customer engagement.
  • On-the-job coaching: Continuous mentoring and feedback throughout the programme to ensure learning success.
  • Workplace readiness: Gain essential skills in communication, team collaboration, problem solving, and professional behavior.
  • Occupational Qualification: Successful learners will receive an NQF Level 2 Checkout Operator qualification, recognized across South Africa’s retail sector.

This initiative is part of a broader national youth employment drive, and Clicks is looking for young individuals who are excited to grow, learn, and contribute meaningfully to a fast-paced retail environment.
