About the Programme:

The UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Fellowships in Engineering epitomize the spirit of international cooperation and solidarity. Through the generous support of the Polish authorities and UNESCO, thirty (30) fellows from eligible Member States will have the opportunity to embark on a transformative journey of academic exploration and research. Invited Member States:

Seventy-six Member States have been invited to participate in the fellowship program, representing diverse regions across the globe. From the African continent to the Arab States, Asia and the Pacific, and Latin America and the Caribbean, eligible countries have the opportunity to nominate qualified candidates for this prestigious initiative. By fostering inclusivity and diversity, the program aims to harness the collective potential of nations in pursuit of shared goals.

Duration and Place of Fellowship Study:

The fellowship program will span six months, commencing from 1st October 2024 to 31st March 2025. Fellows will be based at the AGH University of Krakow, UNESCO AGH Chair, located at A. Mickiewicza Ave 30, PL 30-059 Krakow, Poland. This esteemed institution provides a conducive environment for research excellence, innovation, and cross-cultural exchange.   2. Contact National Commission: Reach out to the National Commission for UNESCO in your country to obtain information on the application procedures at the national level. National Commissions serve as valuable resources for candidates, providing guidance and support throughout the application process.
  3. Prepare Application: Complete the UNESCO fellowships application form, ensuring all sections are duly filled and legible. Gather supporting documents, including identity photo, certified copies of academic degrees, and UNESCO certificate of language knowledge. Submission and Selection of Candidates:

The selection process for the UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Fellowships is conducted through National Commissions for UNESCO, reflecting the program’s intergovernmental character. Individual applications submitted directly to UNESCO will not be considered. Successful candidates will be notified through their respective National Commissions for UNESCO, and arrangements will be made for their participation in the program.

Facilities Offered:

Fellows selected for the UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Fellowships will benefit from a comprehensive package of support, including:

  • Free tuition and access to university facilities based on local regulations.
  • Monthly allowance for living expenses, with specific amounts allocated for BSc and MSc degree students.

While UNESCO and the Government of Poland do not provide financial assistance for passport and visa expenses, fellows are encouraged to make timely arrangements to facilitate their travel and participation in the program.
