Background:

Oxfam Pilipinas, in partnership with Galing Pook and AGREA, has launched the “Strengthening Participation and Accountability Through Civil Society Organizations and Engagement with Subnational and National Government (SPACES)” project in March 2023. This 15-month initiative aims to enhance existing partnerships between CSOs and LGUs to foster more equitable, inclusive, and gender-responsive local policies and programs, thereby facilitating the social and economic recovery of the Philippines from the COVID-19 pandemic. As the project nears its completion in June 2024, Oxfam Pilipinas seeks to conduct a comprehensive assessment and learning process to evaluate the project’s impact and outcomes accurately. To facilitate this process, Oxfam Pilipinas is urgently recruiting a Researcher for the SPACES Project. Urgent Opportunity : Researcher Needed at Oxfam


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collate all available information and gather relevant data on selected impact and outcome indicators of the SPACES project.
  • Conduct baseline recall and midline study to validate and enhance initial baseline data, comparing the existing data to the starting conditions of the project sites. Urgent Opportunity : Researcher Needed at Oxfam
  • Prepare an inception report outlining the research rationale, objectives, methods, and work plan, including data protection and management plans.
  • Draft and finalize the baseline-midline research report, incorporating executive summary, background on the SPACES project, discussion on the rationale, objectives, methods, key findings, and recommendations.
  • Develop case studies on LGU practices, highlighting successful models and approaches adopted in social accountability methods. Urgent Opportunity : Researcher Needed at Oxfam
  • Prepare a presentation deck summarizing the key findings for stakeholders and the Oxfam Pilipinas team.
  • Produce a baseline-midline results brief outlining key findings, recommendations, and implications for programming, policy influencing, and future research initiatives. Urgent Opportunity : Researcher Needed at Oxfam

Period of Engagement: February 19, 2024, until April 30, 2024

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Advanced Degree in public policy, international development, public health, population studies, economics, sociology, or related social science discipline. Urgent Opportunity : Researcher Needed at Oxfam
  • Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in program management support.
  • Prior experience working with the UN/UNFPA on program management support and coordination is advantageous. Urgent Opportunity : Researcher Needed at Oxfam
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
