Overview
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) seeks interns to support its Global Programme on Criminal Network Disruption (GPCD), a mission-critical initiative to combat transnational organized crime, with a focus on disrupting criminal networks. The internship, based in Vienna, will run for six months and provides hands-on experience in project planning, research, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities
The intern will assist the team in variouUNODC 2025 Internship Applications Opensks, including:
- Planning & Administration:
- Support the development of work plans and logistics for training sessions, missions, and conferences.
- Provide administrative assistance to operational activities.
- Research & Analysis:
- Conduct research on transnational organized crime, especially cocaine trafficking.
- Contribute to drafting concept notes and reports based on findings.
- Communications:
- Assist in creating communications materials, reports, and presentations.
- Fact-check and proofread documents for accuracy.
- Training & Development:
- Help design and prepare training materials for workshops.
- Offer logistical support for technical assistance activities.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate program (Master’s, Ph.D., or equivalent).
- Be in the final year of a Bachelor’s program or have recently completed it.
Additional Requirements:
- Proficiency in English (fluency required). Knowledge of other UN official languages is an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Demonstrated interest in the United Nations’ mission and the ideals of the UN Charter.
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
Important Notes
- Unpaid Internship: Interns are not financially compensated, and all travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses are the intern’s responsibility.
- Work Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week).
- Location-Specific Requirements: Interns may need to obtain a visa and work authorization for the host country.
