Background & Job Description
The University of South Africa (UNISA) invites applications from unemployed South African citizens who have completed a UNISA qualification equivalent to NQF Level 6 and above. This graduate programme is designed to provide practical workplace experience to recent graduates who have no formal work experience in their field.
Only UNISA graduates under the age of 35 are eligible. Candidates who were previously employed at UNISA or any other institution are not eligible to apply.
The programme runs for 12 months, beginning 01 June 2025, and aims to enhance youth employability through real-world job exposure in key administrative and academic support roles across Eastern Cape regions.
Tasks
Selected candidates will support various functional areas, including administration and counselling services. Duties will typically involve:
- Performing clerical and office support tasks
- Assisting in student counselling and career development services
- Handling basic data entry and filing
- Working closely with supervisors and contributing to team goals
- Supporting project-based administrative work
- Ensuring professionalism and confidentiality at all times

Qualifications
Education and Certification
Eligible applicants must:
- Be South African citizens who have completed a UNISA qualification (minimum NQF level 6)
- Be under 35 years of age
- Not have any formal work experience
- Have never worked at UNISA or any other organization
- Provide their UNISA student number and the correct position reference number on the application portal
- Apply for only one position per submission
