Background & Job Description

The UNICEF Internship Programme gives students and recent graduates direct exposure to humanitarian and development work. Interns contribute to UNICEF projects worldwide while developing professional and academic skills. The programme typically runs for six to twenty-six weeks, either full-time or part-time, depending on office needs and intern availability.

Tasks

Contribute to projects within UNICEF offices worldwide.
Support programme implementation, research, and reporting.
Assist in administrative, technical, and field-related tasks.
Collaborate with teams and learn about international development operations.

Qualifications (Education and Certification, Experience)

Education

Enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or PhD programme, or graduated within the past two years.
Strong academic performance is required.

Experience & Other Requirements

At least 18 years old.
Proficient in English, French, or Spanish; fluency in the local office language may also be required.
No immediate relatives (parent, sibling) employed by UNICEF or within the reporting line.
Relevant work or volunteer experience will be an advantage.

Additional Information

Interns receive a monthly stipend and, where funding is available, a one-time lump sum contribution for travel and visa costs.
UNICEF provides necessary documents to support visa applications.
Internship opportunities are available year-round across different UNICEF offices.
