UNICEF offers global graduate and early career opportunities designed to prepare the next generation of professionals in the humanitarian and development sector. Through its Internship and Graduate Program, participants gain hands-on experience that contributes to their academic, personal, and professional growth.
Internships are available across UNICEF offices worldwide, giving candidates the opportunity to engage in meaningful projects that make a real difference for children and communities. Programs typically last from six to twenty-six weeks and may be part-time or full-time depending on office needs.
Tasks
Selected candidates will:
- Contribute to UNICEF’s global operations in areas aligned with their field of study.
- Support teams on program design, research, and day-to-day operations.
- Gain exposure to international development work while developing practical skills.
- Work with diverse teams in humanitarian and development contexts.
Qualifications UNICEF Graduate Program and Early Careers 2026
Education and Certification
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or PhD program, or have graduated within the last two years.
Experience
- Strong academic performance and motivation are required.
- Previous relevant work or volunteer experience is an advantage.
- Proficiency in at least one of UNICEF’s working languages (English, French, or Spanish).
- Fluency in the local working language of the office applied to may be required.
- Candidates must not have immediate relatives working at UNICEF or within their reporting line.
Additional Information
- UNICEF provides a monthly stipend to interns.
- A one-time lump sum may be offered to support visa and travel costs, subject to availability of funding.
