Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Program Development: The Associate Programme Management Officer will work closely with key stakeholders to design, implement, and assess M&E programs for the Global Fund for Coral Reefs. This involves collaborating with the Programme Management Officer to identify programmatic goals, develop M&E frameworks, and establish data collection methodologies to track progress and outcomes.
  2. Research and Analysis: Conducting basic research on selected aspects of GFCR programs, operations, and activities is a fundamental aspect of the role. This includes reviewing and analyzing emerging coral reef issues and trends, participating in evaluations and research activities, and contributing to the preparation of policy documents and reports.
  4. Consulting Assignments: Assisting the Programme Management Officer in conducting consulting assignments is essential. This involves planning and facilitating workshops, training sessions, and other interactive M&E activities to build capacity and support effective program implementation.

Education and Qualifications:

  • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
  • Successful completion of degree or non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics, or data science is desirable.

Work Experience:

The candidate should have a minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration, or a related area. Experience working in international organizations, intergovernmental settings, or within the United Nations system is desirable. Experience supporting multi-stakeholder engagement and coordination, particularly in developing countries and multicultural teams, is advantageous.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration, or a related area is required.
  • Experience working in international organizations and intergovernmental settings is desirable.
  • Experience within the United Nations system or other large multilateral organizations is desirable.
  • Experience supporting multi-stakeholder engagement and coordination is desirable.
  • Work experience in developing countries and within multi-cultural teams is desirable.
  • Experience working on or with coral reef initiatives is desirable.
  • One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Languages:

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.

Assessment:

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise, followed by a competency-based interview.
