UNDP Project Manager Opportunity (Home-Based)
Background & Job Description
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead Phase 3 of its Environmental Governance Programme (EGP) on Mining. This critical initiative, supported by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Swepa) and funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), integrates environmental and human rights principles into mining governance to address social and environmental challenges.
As part of the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support (BPPS) within UNDP’s Global Policy Network (GPN), the selected Project Manager will oversee program implementation in five target countries—Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Kenya, Argentina, and Colombia—helping to strengthen sustainable mining governance amid rising global demand for minerals. The role requires extensive coordination between UNDP HQ, Country Offices, Swepa, and other global partners to ensure efficient project execution aligned with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, the Paris Agreement, and the 2030 Agenda.
This is a home-based, full-time position with a contract duration of one year under an International Personnel Service Agreement (IPSA-10). The role requires expertise in sustainable development, environmental governance, project management, and stakeholder coordination.
