Background & Job Description
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is offering a six-month internship opportunity within the Global Policy Centre for Governance (GPCG) in Oslo, Norway. This internship provides hands-on experience in governance, data analysis, and policy research, supporting UNDP’s work in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16 on peace, justice, and strong institutions.
The selected intern will contribute to key governance initiatives, including data collection, analysis, and reporting on SDG 16 indicators, and support capacity-building efforts globally.

Tasks
Intern responsibilities may include:
- Conducting background research and reviewing data collection tools.
- Supporting data analysis and visualization for governance-related projects.
- Assisting in implementing the SDG 16 Survey and preparing capacity-building workshops.
- Contributing to the development of the SDG 16 Global Progress Report.
- Assisting in organizing webinars, meetings, and governance-related events.

Qualifications
Education and Certification
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria at the time of application:
- Be in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Statistics, Data Science, Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, or related social sciences).
- Be enrolled in a Master’s or higher degree program in the mentioned fields.
- Have recently graduated (within one year) from a relevant university program.
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program.
Experience & Skills
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Interest in global governance, international organizations, and sustainable development.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Experience in data visualization, governance statistics, or policy analysis is an asset.
- Work experience in a developing country or international organization is advantageous.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
- Knowledge of French is desirable.

- Location: Oslo, Norway
- Stipend: Monthly stipend provided, based on duty location.
