Background & Job Description
The UNDP is currently offering an internship opportunity for a Communications and Graphic Design Intern to support the Capacity for Disaster Reduction Initiative (CADRI) Partnership Secretariat. This home-based role is perfect for individuals passionate about disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. The intern will assist in creating, designing, and disseminating high-quality communication and knowledge products aimed at expanding CADRI’s global reach and impact.

Tasks
- Design and Layout: Create and format communication products like bulletins, reports, presentations, and country engagement updates in line with CADRI’s branding guidelines.
- Promotional Materials: Develop content for global events, including videos, flyers, banners, brochures, and infographics to support the promotion of CADRI’s tools and achievements.
- Digital Content: Update CADRI’s website, create engaging social media content, and edit videos for online platforms. Propose content ideas aligned with global advocacy days.
- Support and Coordination: Assist with proofreading, editing, and preparing materials. Monitor social media engagement and suggest improvements.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Enrolled in a postgraduate degree program or the final year of a first university degree (e.g., Bachelor’s) in Communications, Graphic Design, Public Relations, or a related field.
Experience
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, with proficiency in Adobe InDesign being essential. Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects is a plus.
- Strong computer skills, with familiarity in using web-based applications, social media, and content management systems.
- Previous experience or coursework in communications or design is preferred.
Additional Information
- Internship Duration: 6 months
- Languages: Proficiency in English required; good knowledge of French, Spanish, Russian, or Arabic is a plus.
- Compensation: Stipend available based on UNDP policies for unpaid internships.
- Location: Home-based with the potential to interact with CADRI’s Geneva office and global partners.
