Background & Internship Description
The UN Women Internship Programme provides students with direct exposure to UN Women’s operations across strategic partnerships, communications, advocacy, policy, evaluation, human resources, programme planning, research, finance, and ICT. Assignments vary in content but are all designed to provide valuable learning experiences in gender and humanitarian work within an international environment.
Interns support the design, implementation, and evaluation of UN Women projects, gaining practical insights into global development work and gender equality initiatives.
Tasks
Interns will:
- Support project design, implementation, and evaluation.
- Conduct research and analysis for policy and programmatic initiatives.
- Assist with advocacy, communications, and reporting tasks.
- Contribute to internal coordination and cross-team projects.
- Participate in team meetings, workshops, and webinars to gain professional insights.
Qualifications UN Women Remote Internship 2026 | Stipend Provided
Education and Certification:
- Enrolled in a Master’s, post-Master’s, or Doctorate programme, or in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree; or
- Recent graduate (within 2 years of graduation) eligible to commence the internship; or
- Enrolled in a national service or professional traineeship programme where the internship forms part of the curriculum.
Experience and Skills:
- Demonstrated commitment to UN Women’s values: professionalism, respect for diversity, and integrity.
- Interest in international development, gender equality, or humanitarian work.
- Strong communication, research, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
Additional Information
- Internship Duration: 2–6 months, full-time, available year-round.
- Location: Remote (work from home).
- Financial Support: Stipend to cover basic daily expenses (transport, meals) if not supported by a sponsoring institution. Travel, accommodation, insurance, and other living costs are the responsibility of the intern or sponsoring institution.
