Background & Job Description
UN Women is the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. The Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF), a partnership between the UN, Member States, and civil society, supports women-led organizations globally. UN Women hosts the WPHF Secretariat, which manages the Global Learning Hub (L-Hub) for WPHF partners and grantees. Reporting to the WPHF L-Hub Programme Specialist, the Programme Analyst will play a crucial role in the effective management of L-Hub programmes. This involves providing substantive inputs to programme design, formulation, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring appropriate application of systems and procedures, and contributing to knowledge management and capacity strengthening efforts for WPHF partners. The position is based in Bonn, Germany.
Tasks
The Programme Analyst will contribute to the effective management and implementation of the L-Hub programme by:
- Providing technical inputs to programme strategies, design, and formulation.
- Leading the implementation of programme activities and monitoring progress against workplans and budgets.
- Coordinating and monitoring implementing partner financial and narrative reports.
- Providing technical assistance and capacity development support, including implementing training modules and developing knowledge products.
- Supporting the monitoring and reporting of programme results, drafting reports for donors and WPHF.
- Contributing to the management of people (supervising associates/assistants) and finances for the L-Hub.
- Providing inputs to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies.
- Supporting advocacy, knowledge building, and communication efforts for L-Hub initiatives.

Qualifications
Education and Certification
A Master’s degree or equivalent in International Relations, Communications, Public Relations, Public Affairs, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. A project/programme management certification is an added advantage.
Experience
At least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building is required. This must include experience supporting training for diverse groups, experience in international development focused on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) or Gender in Humanitarian Action (GiHA), and experience coordinating with civil society organizations, government agencies, and/or donors. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with web-based management systems are also required. Experience with a modern web-based ERP System (preferably Oracle Cloud) is desirable.
Additional Information
This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for an initial duration of 1 year, based in Bonn, Germany. The working language is English, with knowledge of another official UN language (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) being desirable. UN Women offers a comprehensive remuneration package for its international staff, which includes salary, dependency allowance, various leaves (annual, parental, sick), health insurance, pension contributions, life insurance, and potential relocation benefits. The estimated annual net salary for a P-2 level in Bonn, including post adjustment, is typically in the range of USD 76,000 – 104,000, though this is an estimate and the exact figure will be provided by UN Women.
