Qualifications
Education & Certification:
- Enrolled (or planning to enroll) in an accredited institution: high school, vocational, associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, professional, or doctoral program.
- Minimum GPA: 2.5 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate).
Grade-Level Requirements:
- GS-01: Actively enrolled in high school/GED program.
- GS-02: High school diploma/equivalent.
- GS-03: 1+ year of post-high school study.
- GS-04: 2+ years of post-high school study or associate’s degree.
- GS-05: Bachelor’s degree completion.
- GS-07: 1+ year of graduate study or Superior Academic Achievement post-bachelor’s.
- GS-09: 2+ years of graduate study or master’s degree.
- GS-11: Master’s degree (research roles) or PhD (non-research roles).
Experience:
- U.S. citizenship, nationality, or legal permanent residency (non-citizens may apply but must attain citizenship before potential conversion).
- Age 16+ by application deadline.
Additional Information
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salaries follow the General Schedule (GS) pay scale (GS-1 to GS-15).
- Eligible interns (90+ day appointments) accrue annual/sick leave.
- Seasonal interns working 130+ hours/month for 90+ days qualify for health benefits (no life insurance).
