Background & Job Description
Sanlam, a diversified financial services group with operations across Africa, India, Malaysia, and more, is offering an opportunity for aspiring Chartered Accountants (SA) through its SAICA-accredited Trainee Accountant program. Based in Cape Town, this program supports candidates in gaining technical and professional competencies needed for CA(SA) qualification.
Tasks
- Participate in job rotations across Sanlam Group Office and business clusters
- Contribute to financial reporting, risk management, taxation, and audit functions
- Support annual reporting and ad-hoc strategic projects
- Gain exposure to SAICA core competencies such as ethics, digital acumen, governance, and business strategy

Qualifications
Education and Certification:
- Certificate in the Theory of Accountancy (CTA) or recognized postgraduate qualification for SAICA’s Initial Assessment of Competence (IAC)
- Minimum academic average of 60%
Experience:
- Involvement in student organizations or community initiatives preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is advantageous
