The Open University is hiring a Research Fellow for its Centre for Protecting Women Online (CPWO). This Centre addresses online harms against women and girls through cross-sectoral research that informs law, technology, and policy. The successful candidate will work closely with the Centre’s director, Professor Olga Jurasz, and lead the Law & Policy work stream, contributing to the Centre’s ambitious research goals and partnerships.

Tasks

• Lead and co-manage the Law & Policy work stream
• Design and implement research projects from inception to completion
• Develop funding proposals and manage grant applications
• Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders
• Disseminate findings through academic publications, conferences, and public platforms
• Deliver knowledge exchange and impactful policy engagement activities
• Support strategic objectives of the Centre

Qualifications

Education and Certification

• Master’s degree in Law or a related field relevant to the Centre’s objectives

Experience

• Significant experience in a legal or policy role related to women’s online safety
• Strong history of influencing policy through research or partnerships
• Proven success in securing research funding
• Experience working with non-academic partners
• Skilled in public communication and knowledge exchange activities

• Location: Milton Keynes (with flexibility)
• Salary: £46,735 to £55,755 per annum
