Tasks
As a Nutrition Research Intern, you will play a key role in supporting World Vision’s nutrition programs. Your responsibilities will be diverse and will involve both desk and data-based tasks to assist in the organization’s ongoing research efforts. The tasks include:
Desk and Systematic Review:
- Information Gathering: You will identify and gather information from a variety of sources, including PubMed, Google Scholar, and international organization websites, to support food-based approaches (FBA) and related malnutrition prevention topics.
- Material Review: Your role will involve retrieving and systematically reviewing gathered materials, with a focus on analyzing quantitative and qualitative data from peer-reviewed journals using data analysis software like SPSS and Excel.
- Synthesis and Documentation: You will synthesize your findings from the gathered materials, assess the credibility of the sources, and document the review process in a detailed and comprehensive manner.
- Reporting: Communicate your findings effectively through a detailed report that includes evidence, gaps, and actionable recommendations.
- Conclusion and Recommendations: Based on your review, you will draw conclusions and offer actionable recommendations for improving nutrition-related programs.
Quantitative Data Analysis for the PDH Program:
- Data Cleaning: Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, you will clean quantitative data for the Positive Deviance/Hearth (PDH) program.
- Data Analysis Tools Utilization: Using SPSS and MS Excel, you will analyze data to identify trends and extract actionable insights.
- Findings Reporting: Report the findings derived from your data analysis to assist in the improvement of the PDH program.

Qualifications
To be successful in this internship, candidates should meet specific educational and experience requirements:
Education and Certification:
- Master’s Degree in Public Health, Global Health, Nutritional Science, or a related field is required for this role.

Experience:

Additional Internship Details:
- Location: Remote within the United States, applicants must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or Washington.
- Internship Dates: May 27 – August 22.
- Hours: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (24-40 hours per week).
- Stipend: A monthly stipend of $800 is provided to US-based interns.
Eligibility Criteria:
- At least 18 years old.
- Eligible to work in the United States (US citizen/resident or F1 student visa holder with a valid US Social Security Number).
- Able to commit to at least 24 hours per week for the full internship duration.
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated (within 2 years) from a graduate program.
- Willing to adhere to World Vision International’s Christian Statement of Faith.
- Comfortable using personal electronic devices for internship duties.
