Background & Job Description
CARE, an international NGO operating in over 100 countries, partners with local communities to address poverty, inequality, and crises through initiatives in disaster response, education, women’s empowerment, and health. For 75 years, CARE has prioritized women and girls as catalysts for sustainable change. The CARE-WWF Alliance, a collaboration between CARE and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), focuses on integrating conservation and development efforts.
This unpaid internship (for academic credit only) supports the CARE-WWF Alliance’s communications and knowledge management. The role involves creating content, managing social media, and amplifying the Alliance’s mission to bridge conservation and poverty alleviation.
Work Location: Remote (possible location: Washington, DC)
Duration: 6 months (unpaid, academic credit required)

Tasks
- Develop and execute a 6-month LinkedIn strategy for the CARE-WWF Alliance.
- Update CARE-WWF Alliance content on CARE.org and create web stories/blog posts.
- Design materials (donor documents, presentations) to promote the Alliance’s Sowing Change initiative.
- Research and write project briefs, reports, and papers for conferences/publications.
- Assist with knowledge management to advance Alliance priorities.

Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, environmental studies, international relations, humanities, or related fields.
Experience & Skills
- Proficiency in social media management (LinkedIn focus) and Microsoft Outlook.
- Graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite).
- Strong writing, editing, and critical analysis abilities for blogs, briefs, and reports.
- Experience with website content management systems (CMS) is a plus.
