About the Opportunity
As the Editorial Assistant at EJN, you will work closely with the EJN Senior Editor and Content Officer to produce, track, and distribute high-quality content. This role involves maintaining the EJN website and providing editorial support to EJN program staff worldwide. You’ll need experience in research, writing, and editing content in English, as well as content management skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Content Production: Assist in writing project updates and impact stories. Help produce newsletters, resources, and reports.
- Content Distribution: Post resources, project updates, and stories on the EJN website.
- Application Screening: Participate in screening applications for grant and training opportunities, ensuring they meet specific criteria.
- Event Support: Assist with webinars, online courses, and workshops, including providing technical support, organizing registration, and inviting speakers.
- Website Coordination: Work with the EJN Editor and web development team to coordinate improvements to the EJN website.
- Data Management: Support data collection and database management, including data entry, organizing files, and distributing surveys.
- Social Media Engagement: Engage with EJN’s Google group and WhatsApp group members, offer creative input, and contribute to communications campaigns.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3 years’ relevant experience, including journalism or newsroom experience.
- Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Strong writing skills; copyediting experience is a significant asset.
- Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., Drupal).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Interest in environmental and/or climate change issues.
- Willingness to work with international colleagues across multiple time zones.
- Ability to work well with others, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred:
- Experience with media and/or development projects.

- Compensation: $46,000 – $55,200 per annum
