Background & Job Description
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently seeking a Communications Intern for a remote/home-based position. This internship provides an opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in digital communications, social media strategy, and content creation while contributing to UNDP’s global mission.
The selected intern will work with the Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS, supporting efforts to increase the visibility of UNDP’s online platforms. The role involves creating digital content, optimizing web and social media engagement, and assisting with communication strategies for key events. This is a full-time, six-month internship based remotely, allowing participants to work from any location.

Tasks
- Assist in creating and uploading content for UNDP’s regional website.
- Develop materials for social media channels, including Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Support the organization of key events, conferences, and discussions.
- Monitor social media trends and apply insights to enhance engagement.
- Conduct research and apply SEO and digital marketing tactics.
- Compile and analyze performance reports for web and social media.
- Prepare weekly content roundups and recommend relevant topics.
- Assist with video editing, graphic design, and web content updates.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Enrolled in a graduate school program (Master’s degree or equivalent).
- Enrolled in the final year of a bachelor’s degree program.
- Recently graduated (within one year) from a degree program in digital marketing, web management, graphic design, social media, or communication.
- Enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program related to communications.

Experience
- Prior experience in website management, content creation, or digital communications is preferred.
- Familiarity with web-based applications, HTML basics, and design software is an advantage.
- Experience with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X (formerly Twitter).
- Understanding of SEO and digital analytics reporting is a plus.
- Strong written communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Information
- Financial Support: UNDP internships provide stipends as per UN regulations. Additional financial support for expenses must be arranged by the candidate, sponsoring institution, or government.
