Background & Job Description

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking a Project Analyst to support its Nature, Climate, and Energy initiatives under the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support (BPPS). This role will involve providing operational and administrative support to global projects related to nature finance, biodiversity conservation, and private sector engagement. The incumbent will assist in project coordination, financial tracking, and knowledge management to ensure the effective implementation of UNDP’s environmental programs. Tasks

  • Support the operational management of assigned programs, including logistics, budgeting, and documentation.
  • Monitor project expenditures, prepare budget revisions, and track financial reports.
  • Coordinate with project teams, responsible parties, and UNDP country offices to facilitate implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with UNDP regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Organize events, manage consultant recruitment, and oversee procurement processes.
  • Assist in donor reporting, submission of progress reports, and financial certifications.
  • Process payments, travel arrangements, and other administrative tasks.
  • Conduct junior research and data analysis to support project evaluation.
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing, advocacy efforts, and best practice documentation.

Qualifications

Education and Certification

  • Master’s degree in administration, business, economics, project management, international development, or a related field.
  • A first-level university degree (bachelor’s) with two additional years of experience may be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with a master’s degree or 4 years with a bachelor’s degree in project management, finance, or business administration.
  • Experience managing projects involving multiple partners and agencies.
  • Knowledge of financial tracking, donor reporting, and budget analysis.
  • Experience working with global or regional environmental projects is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with UNDP systems, procurement, and travel arrangements is desirable.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as Quantum or similar financial platforms is beneficial.

  • Contract Type: International Personnel Service Agreement (IPSA-9)
  • Duration: 1 Year (Renewable)
