The Campaigns Intern will play a critical role in supporting Oxfam’s initiatives aimed at addressing inequality, with a strong focus on organizing, research, and advocacy. As part of this role, you will have the chance to engage with a variety of campaigns addressing key global issues such as economic inequality, climate change, gender injustice, and workers’ rights.
Interns will be introduced to the dynamics of public campaigning, research, policy advocacy, and grassroots organizing. You will contribute to several ongoing projects, offering you a comprehensive understanding of the strategic planning, execution, and communication processes behind high-impact advocacy efforts.
Tasks
1. Campaign Research Support
- Assist Campaign Leads and Organizing Advisors with research on pressing campaign issues and tactics.
- Provide analytical support in assessing the political landscape, understanding Congressional targets, and mapping out external campaign environments.
- Research and track issues surrounding corporate accountability, climate justice, and humanitarian rights.
2. Administrative Support
- Attend and provide logistical support for campaign meetings, ensuring accurate notes are captured and shared, including action items and follow-ups.
- Assist with the preparation for in-person and virtual events, including webinars, workshops, and training sessions.
- Provide support in organizing campaign-related materials and managing schedules for various campaign activities.
3. Sisters on the Planet Ambassadors Program
- Manage online databases for the program, supporting the recruitment and engagement efforts of ambassadors who are leaders in environmental and social justice causes.
- Assist in preparing mass emails, handling event management tasks, and tracking social media activity relevant to the program.
- Research and identify potential ambassadors to enhance the diversity and impact of the program.
4. Oxfam Action Network for an Equal Future
- Support the recruitment and engagement efforts of the network by managing sign-ups and assisting in the creation of communications materials.
- Help coordinate virtual and in-person recruitment and training events for new activists and supporters.
- Monitor the effectiveness of outreach campaigns and support in the analysis of data to gauge success.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Support
- Provide logistical and analytical support in the collection and management of data related to campaign activities.
- Contribute to the development of dashboards to track campaign success, community engagement, and grassroots mobilization efforts.
- Assist in reporting the effectiveness of various campaign strategies and organize data to support future efforts.
6. Knowledge Management and File Organization
- Help maintain the Campaigns Box folder, ensuring that documents are properly stored, organized, and easy to retrieve.
- Manage the dissemination of information across the team, keeping all stakeholders informed about the progress of ongoing campaigns.
- Assist in updating the campaign calendar and compiling newsletters and reports for internal use and external stakeholders.

Qualifications (Education and Certification, Experience)
Education
- The ideal candidate is pursuing or has completed an undergraduate degree, or has equivalent work experience in a relevant field such as Public Policy, International Development, Political Science, Sociology, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Previous experience in administrative support, research, or advocacy is preferred but not mandatory.
- Exposure to grassroots organizing, advocacy campaigns, or social justice issues will be highly beneficial.
- Experience in managing social media accounts or event planning is a plus.
