Background & Job Description
Gogos Edu, an emerging online education platform, is seeking qualified online tutors to provide high-quality educational support to students in grades 6-12. As an online tutor, you will play a crucial role in shaping students’ learning experiences, helping them master subjects, and preparing for standardized tests.
With flexible scheduling, tutors can choose their own working hours, making this an ideal opportunity for educators, graduate students, and professionals looking for part-time or full-time work. The role is entirely remote, allowing tutors to work from anywhere while earning competitive wages.
This role is open to U.S.-based applicants only. You must have valid work authorization and meet the minimum education and experience requirements to be considered.
Tasks
As an online tutor at Gogos Edu, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting one-on-one tutoring sessions for students in grades 6-12.
- Customizing lesson plans based on each student’s strengths, needs, and learning styles.
- Tracking student progress and providing regular feedback to students and, when necessary, their parents or guardians.
- Communicating effectively through online chat or video sessions.
- Maintaining a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Using interactive digital tools such as virtual whiteboards and video conferencing platforms.
- Assisting students in preparing for standardized tests (SAT, ACT, etc.), if applicable.
- Staying updated on best practices in online education and implementing them in your tutoring sessions.
- Participating in tutor training and collaborating with other educators to improve tutoring methods.

Qualifications
Education and Certification
- A Bachelor’s degree in the subject you wish to tutor or a related field (required).
- Teaching credentials or advanced degrees (preferred but not required).
- Certification in standardized test preparation (a plus).
Experience
- Minimum of one year of tutoring or teaching experience, preferably with middle or high school students.
- Proven expertise in at least one subject area (see the subject list on the Gogos Edu website for available topics).
- Experience in educational technology tools such as Zoom, Google Meet, or virtual whiteboards.
- Familiarity with curriculum design and different teaching methodologies is beneficial.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Comfortable using video conferencing platforms for tutoring sessions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to online learning platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAT, ACT, or other standardized test prep.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities (a bonus, especially in languages commonly spoken by students).
- A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple students.
