Background & Job Description
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organization that works with governments worldwide to promote policies that improve the economic and social well-being of people. The OECD Internship Programme aims to integrate highly qualified and motivated students into the Organisation to support its diverse work, from artificial intelligence and climate change to regulation and education. Interns gain hands-on experience by contributing directly to policy development or supporting corporate functions, enhancing their analytical and technical skills in a multicultural setting. Internships can be conducted in-person (mostly at Paris headquarters), hybrid, or fully remotely, depending on team needs.
Tasks
Interns at the OECD may undertake a variety of tasks, including:
- Preparing studies and documents.
- Carrying out research and reviews of existing materials.
- Collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
- Supporting the production of documents, working papers, and publications.
- Participating in meetings and seminars.
- Liaising and building networks with officials, researchers, and other international organizations.

Internships are available across various policy areas (e.g., Agriculture, Climate Change, Development, Economy, Education, Environment, Health, Taxation, Trade) and corporate functions (e.g., Audit, Communications, Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Translation).

Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time degree programme (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) for the entire duration of the internship in a field or discipline related to the work of the OECD. Online courses or programs not awarding a degree are not considered accredited.

Additional Information
The OECD welcomes interns on an ongoing basis, allowing applications to be submitted throughout the year. Internships typically last between one and six months (renewable up to a total of twelve months) on a full-time basis (40 hours/week), with part-time options possible in exceptional circumstances. The OECD encourages internships of at least four months for a richer experience. A contribution to living expenses of €1,000 per full month worked is granted to interns based in Paris. Interns are also entitled to annual leave. The majority of internships are at the OECD’s headquarters in Paris, France, primarily for OECD member country nationals, but also open to non-OECD Member country nationals for specific programs.
