Background & Job Description

Mogale City Local Municipality, in collaboration with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment, is recruiting 55 young graduates for a five-month EPWP programme focused on environmental conservation. This initiative empowers youth with practical experience across eight environmental job categories, contributing to sustainable development in the Mogale City region.

Tasks

Positions include:

  • Education & Awareness (5 posts): Run community campaigns and environmental education.
  • Climate Change (5 posts): Support mitigation/adaptation projects.
  • Environmental Compliance (5 posts): Conduct fieldwork and regulatory promotion.
  • Landscaping (5 posts): Design municipal green spaces and support urban renewal.
  • Nature Conservation (5 posts): Assist with biodiversity assessments and workplace safety.
  • Urban Green (10 posts): Tree planting and community greening.
  • Bylaw Enforcement (20 posts): Monitor illegal dumping, issue fines, and support recycling efforts.

Qualifications

Education and Certification:

  • Matric + 3 years of study in fields like Environment, Biodiversity, Forestry, Air Quality, Landscaping, or Horticulture.

Experience:
