Job Purpose and Organizational Context
In line with the UN Secretary-General’s global reform agenda, UNDP is dedicated to delivering more effectively and efficiently in pursuit of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. As part of this reform, UN Resident Coordinator Offices (RCOs) provide crucial support to countries in achieving their development priorities and SDG targets. The Knowledge Management and Communications Associate position is situated within the UN RCO in Gambia, contributing to peacebuilding efforts and sustainable development initiatives in the region.

Key Responsibilities
- Developing a Communications Strategy: You’ll spearhead the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy for the Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) in Gambia. This involves crafting communication plans, disseminating information about project activities and results, and liaising with media outlets to raise awareness about PBF’s work.
- Knowledge Sharing and Capacity Building: Collaborating closely with the Peacebuilding Team, you’ll facilitate knowledge sharing among project teams, partners, and stakeholders. This includes documenting best practices, lessons learned, and success stories, as well as organizing training sessions and workshops to enhance communication and advocacy skills.
- Online Information Management and Social Media Engagement: You’ll be responsible for enriching PBF-funded projects’ online presence through the administration of website content and social media platforms. This entails creating engaging multimedia content, adhering to UN guidelines and standards, and leveraging digital channels to promote PBF’s work and engage with stakeholders.
- Administrative Support and Collaboration: As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide administrative support as needed to ensure the efficient functioning of the office and the organization. This may involve coordinating meetings, preparing documentation, and collaborating with UN agencies and partners to advance common objectives.
