Background & Job Description
Global Rights Compliance (GRC), an international human rights law foundation founded in 2013, specializes in international humanitarian law, international criminal law, and business human rights. Operating across over 45 countries, GRC focuses on delivering justice through the innovative application of international law.
Based in Kyiv, Ukraine, GRC is a core part of the Atrocity Crimes Advisory Group (ACA), initiated by the US, EU, and UK. Through Mobile Justice Teams (MJTs), GRC supports Ukraine’s Office of the Prosecutor General (OPG) in investigating and prosecuting international crimes, such as atrocity crimes.

In addition, GRC’s Starvation and Humanitarian Crisis Division is a global leader in analyzing, preventing, and seeking accountability for mass starvation. With expertise in OSINT and partnerships worldwide, the division focuses on conflict zones like Syria, South Sudan, Yemen, Ethiopia, and Ukraine, and aims to expand its reach further.
GRC is currently seeking a Junior OSINT Researcher to join its remote team. This position is an exciting opportunity for professionals with experience in open-source investigations and knowledge of international humanitarian and criminal law.
Location: Remote
Contract Duration: 4 months (with potential extension, subject to funding availability)
Tasks
- Collect information for investigative purposes, emphasizing OSINT.
- Preserve open-source materials collected by the team.
- Conduct legal research.
- Assist in drafting project deliverables, including reports summarizing preliminary investigative findings.
- Support the preparation of training sessions.

Qualifications (Education and Certification, Experience)
Education and Certification
- Advanced studies in public international law, ideally with a focus on international humanitarian or criminal law (desirable).
Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in open-source investigations.
- Fluency in English and Ukrainian/Russian (both written and verbal).
- Experience working with sensitive material, demonstrating strong storage and sharing skills.
- Practical experience working in a fast-moving, unstructured environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, capable of managing competing priorities.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working in or on post-Soviet countries, especially Ukraine.
- Knowledge of database and case management tools.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools.
