The Opportunity: Junior Researcher

As a Junior Researcher at Plan International, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the organization’s research initiatives aimed at understanding and addressing the challenges faced by children and young people. Working closely with the Senior Researcher, you will play a crucial role in defining research methodologies, collecting and analyzing data, and synthesizing findings into actionable insights. Join the Movement: Junior Researcher Position Open at Plan International

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Researcher in defining research methodologies and tools.
  • Conduct data collection under the guidance of the Senior Researcher.
  • Provide on-site guidance and training to young researchers involved in the project.
  • Receive training in research methodologies, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Collaborate in writing reports and crafting policy briefs based on research findings.
  • Contribute to the production of advocacy position papers.
  • Ensure compliance with Plan International’s internal policies, especially regarding safeguarding and compliance.
  • Support the Senior Researcher in any additional tasks essential for the success of the project.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Sciences, Development, or related fields.
  • Professional qualifications in Data Analysis, Social Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation.
  • Experience working with youth development programs and training initiatives.
  • Previous experience in fieldwork and producing position papers is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills suitable for public engagement.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficiency in research report writing.

Location: Maputo, Mozambique Type of Role: Short Term (2 months/2024 & 2 months/2025) Reports to: Project Manager Closing Date: 3rd May 2024
