Work Location:
This position is situated within the UNFCCC secretariat in Bonn, Germany, specifically within the Means of Implementation division. The Capacity-Building subdivision, where the position is housed, offers essential assistance to Parties in enhancing access to, mobilizing, and scaling up support for implementing the Convention, the Kyoto Protocol, and the Paris Agreement. The subdivision focuses on supporting intergovernmental work and negotiations related to capacity-building under the Convention, the Kyoto Protocol, and the Paris Agreement. Reporting Structure:
The Research Assistant will report to the Manager (P-5), Capacity-building subdivision, and the Director, Means of Implementation (MOI). Their role will involve providing support to the subdivision in various capacities, primarily focusing on the development, operation, updating, and administration of the Capacity-building portal and associated webpages. Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Development, Operation, and Administration of the Capacity-building Portal and Webpages:
- Assisting in the enhancement of the Capacity-building portal and subdivision’s webpages by identifying, developing, and implementing new features to address user needs.

- Facilitating the uploading of content into the Capacity-building portal and ensuring harmonization with internal databases.

- Updating and maintaining the UNFCCC’s Capacity-building related webpages.
- Supporting Communication and Outreach Activities:

- Maintaining and updating information on the UNFCCC Capacity-building Linked-In Group.
- Facilitating Knowledge and Information Management Systems:
- Developing tools for monitoring the implementation of annual workplans and other relevant activities.
- Implementing databases to collect information pertinent to the subdivision’s work.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to document business requirements for new or existing systems.
- Monitoring IT project development schedules and ensuring alignment with other systems.
- Identifying areas for improvement in the subdivision’s websites and providing training to users.
- Additional Responsibilities:

- Representing the secretariat in technical meetings, workshops, and seminars as required.
