Role Purpose: Plan International Poland, as part of the Ukraine Crisis Response strategy 2023-2024, aims to enhance civil society partners’ humanitarian programming for refugees, displaced, and conflict-affected individuals in Ukraine and neighboring host countries. The focus is on reducing vulnerabilities and risks, particularly for girls, young people, and minority groups. The Research Assistant will support a research project to understand the specific needs of girls and young women in displaced and host communities in Polish urban settings, contributing to the adaptation and expansion of urban programming. Responsibilities:

Support in Desk Research:
- Assist in conducting literature reviews, data collection, and preliminary analysis.

Training Co-researchers:
- Support the development and delivery of training modules for co-researchers.
- Create an inclusive environment, facilitating active participation in research activities.
Participatory Research Assistance:
- Organize and facilitate participatory research activities under the Research Manager’s guidance.

Qualitative Data Analysis:
- Aid in analyzing qualitative data using prescribed methodologies.

Reporting and Documentation Support:
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations under the supervision of the Research Manager.

Accountabilities:

Upholding Research Integrity:
- Ensure ethical and integral research conduct following Plan International and global guidelines.
- Contribute to maintaining the accuracy and reliability of research data.
Training and Development Support:
- Support the Research Manager in training co-researchers for effective skill development.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating training program effectiveness.
Project Management Assistance:
- Help manage project timelines and deliverables.
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals.
Data Analysis Support:
- Provide assistance in qualitative data analysis for insightful interpretations.
- Assist in preparing research papers and reports for the ‘Safer Cities’ project.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Facilitate communication within the team and with external stakeholders.
- Assist in presenting research findings and updates to various audiences.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Adhere to institutional and legal research guidelines, providing necessary support in compliance matters.
- Regularly report progress and issues to the Research Manager.

Essential Knowledge:

Knowledge of Polish, English, and Ukrainian language would be a plus.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.
