Background:
Ethiopia, like many countries, faces significant challenges related to gender inequality and poverty. In the Oromia region, vulnerable adolescent girls are particularly at risk, with limited access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. The Uplift HER Project seeks to address these challenges by empowering girls to take control of their lives and futures. Implemented in 12 woredas across East and West Hararghe, the project aims to create a supportive environment where girls can thrive and reach their full potential.
Since its inception, the Uplift HER Project has made significant strides in improving the health and well-being of adolescent girls in the region. By providing access to education, life skills training, and economic opportunities, the project has helped girls build brighter futures for themselves and their communities. However, there is still much work to be done, and we are committed to continuing our efforts to create lasting change in the lives of these girls.
