Tasks
The Communications Intern will report to the Regional Communications Analyst and will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Content Creation and Website Management
- Assist in creating, editing, and uploading content for the UNDP Regional website.
- Ensure content is optimized for search engines (SEO) and user engagement.
- Develop website landing pages and maintain the integrity of digital assets.
- Social Media Management
- Create materials for UNDP Eurasia’s social media channels, including Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Monitor and track social media performance metrics.
- Research and apply the latest social media trends to enhance outreach and engagement.
- Event Support
- Assist in organizing key UNDP events such as regional conferences, discussions, and report launches.
- Provide logistical and promotional support for virtual and in-person communication events.
- Analytics and Reporting
- Compile analytics reports to assess the performance of digital campaigns.
- Provide insights and recommendations for improving online engagement.
- Research and implement SEO and marketing tactics to increase content visibility.
- Multimedia and Graphic Design
- Contribute to the production of video, graphics, and web design content.
- Support brand consistency across digital platforms.
- Assist in developing infographics and promotional visuals.
- General Administrative Support
- Prepare weekly content roundups and suggest relevant topics for UNDP Eurasia channels.
- Provide additional communications and outreach support as required.

Qualifications
Education and Certification
To be eligible for the UNDP Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or higher).
- Be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
- Have graduated with a university degree in digital marketing, web management, graphic design, social media, communication, or a related field within the last year.
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of the program.
Experience
- Experience in website management, digital communications, and content creation is preferred.
- Familiarity with web-based applications, basic HTML, and design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) is an asset.
- Experience working with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter (X) is preferred.
- Understanding of web metrics, SEO, and digital marketing strategies is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Ability to work in a team and adapt to an international multicultural environment.
Additional Information
Financial Considerations
- Starting from January 2020, UNDP provides stipends to interns in accordance with UN rules and regulations.
- Interns are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and related expenses.
- Medical and life insurance coverage is required for the duration of the internship.
