Duties and Responsibilities
As an intern with the Human Resources Section of the Mechanism, you will work under the supervision of the Chief of the Human Resources Section or an Associate Human Resources Officer. Your responsibilities will include:
Internship Programme Management
You will manage the Internship Programme, acting as the focal point for all internal and external inquiries regarding internships. This involves:
- Drafting correspondence and handling telephone inquiries related to internships.
- Preparing internship offer letters and following up on documentation.
- Informing departments of the status of applications.
- Providing induction briefings to new interns.
- Processing check-outs and updating databases to ensure accurate records.
Coordination and Support
You will ensure a smooth working relationship with potential candidates, other interns, and staff members within the Mechanism. Additionally, you will assist the Human Resources Section with ad-hoc duties as necessary, gaining exposure to various aspects of HR management in an international organization.
Qualifications and Skills
To qualify for this internship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent), or be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or higher).
- Experience: Previous experience in Human Resources management or administration is desirable.
- Languages: Fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of French is an asset.
Additional Information
- Duration: The internship generally ranges from three to six months, starting in early September 2024.
- Work Schedule: Full-time (five days per week).
- Financial Considerations: The internship is unpaid. Interns are responsible for covering all related expenses, including travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses.
- Confidentiality: Interns must maintain confidentiality regarding all unpublished information obtained during the internship.
